Photo Essay: Versailles

Leave a comment Standard

The Palace of Versailles is simply breathtaking! When the royal château was built, Versailles was merely a country village, but today it has developed into a wealthy suburb of Paris. The court of Versailles was the center of political power in France from 1682 until the royal family was forced to leave in 1789 because of the beginning of the French Revolution. The palace itself is beautiful architecture, however once inside it is wall to wall with stunning paintings and chandeliers.
