On my trip I spent a day exploring the hills of Thailand. It really was a once in a lifetime experience to be in the middle of such awe inspiring landscape. First off on my journey I travelled down the river on a bamboo raft and attempted to paddle us there, but truthfully it was not an easy task! Once on land we were introduced to some extremely friendly elephants, one of which kept giving me what can only be described as trunk hugs, which was slightly weird, but also exceedingly cool. I then watched them have a quick bath, before hopping on top of one of the elephants to trek through the jungle, through rivers and then on up into the hills. It truly was an amazing experience!
I love that you guys are wearing bamboo hats! This looks like a fun adventure, hopefully they do some education and conservation here to help the elephants.

Yes, part of the money goes towards saving the elephants 🙂 It was a great place!

Looks like a fun day out. I hope the elephants are looked after though – I am aware that they are often exploited by the tourism industry. The bamboo raft sounds like great fun!

Our guide said this one was approved! We make it a point that we wanted to go somewhere they were treated properly.

Where was the place where you spent time with the elephants? I’ve heard about a lot of good and a lot of bad places in Thailand, but I’ve never been myself, so I always ask in case I ever go 🙂

Chiang Dao Elephant Camp in Chiang Mai 🙂 I was with a tour group and they said they bring us to this place in particular because they are known for treating the animals right!

I had a similar experience, we refused to go to a camp or any elephant show places! We found one in Chang Mai where we could feed them and bathe them and it was really fun to play with them! Love your pics 🙂 Elephants are such cute animals
